Healthcare should feel human.
Everwell Family Clinic and Walk-In Care was created from more than two decades of nursing experience and one deeply held belief: every patient deserves to be seen, heard, and treated with dignity.
A clinic shaped by experience on every side of healthcare
Amy Plott has been a nurse since 2000. She spent approximately the first thirteen years of her career in emergency nursing, eventually becoming the director of an emergency department.
She later transitioned into nursing informatics, where she focused on clinical workflows and improving systems for both nurses and patients. Her work with a large national hospital organization took her across the country nearly every week, giving her a broad view of how healthcare is delivered in communities of every size.
That experience was demanding, but it also taught her something important: healthcare systems may be large and complex, but each patient experiences care one interaction at a time.
Experience that changed the direction of her career
Amy’s path to becoming a family nurse practitioner was shaped by emergency care, healthcare leadership, informatics, family experience, and her own time as a patient.
Emergency nursing and leadership
Beginning in 2000, Amy built her nursing career in the emergency department. Over approximately thirteen years, she cared for patients during some of their most urgent and vulnerable moments and eventually became the department’s director.
Improving healthcare through nursing informatics
Amy moved into informatics nursing and concentrated on improving nursing workflows, patient processes, and the systems clinicians rely on every day. Her work took her to hospitals throughout the United States.
A growing desire to return to patient care
Around 2019, Amy transitioned into an almost fully remote role. When COVID-19 arrived, she watched former colleagues care for patients on the front lines while she worked from home. She realized how deeply she missed caring for people directly.
A family experience that made the mission personal
When Amy’s son, who had struggled with substance use, became ill, she witnessed him being treated as less deserving of compassion by people entrusted with his care. That experience strengthened her resolve to create a different kind of healthcare environment.
Returning to school—and becoming a patient herself
Amy returned to school and earned a second master’s degree in preparation for practice as a family nurse practitioner. Just two months after graduating, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her experience as a patient gave her an even deeper understanding of vulnerability, uncertainty, and the importance of being heard.
What guides the Everwell experience
These values reflect Amy’s experience as a nurse, leader, mother, advocate, and patient.
Listen First
Patients deserve the opportunity to explain what they are experiencing without feeling dismissed, judged, or rushed.
Communicate Clearly
Healthcare information should be explained in a way patients can understand, discuss, and use when making decisions.
Protect Human Dignity
A person’s diagnosis, history, insurance status, or circumstances should never determine the respect they receive.
Improve What We Can
No single clinic can fix the entire healthcare system, but every patient interaction is an opportunity to make care better.
Meet Amy Plott
Amy founded Everwell Family Clinic and Walk-In Care after more than two decades in nursing, healthcare leadership, and clinical informatics.
Her career has allowed her to see healthcare from many angles: emergency nurse, department director, informatics nurse, healthcare traveler, family advocate, nurse practitioner, and cancer patient.
Those experiences shaped the mission behind Everwell. Amy knows she cannot repair every problem within American healthcare, but she can do her part to make sure the people who enter her clinic are treated with compassion, listened to carefully, and included in their care.
Care designed around the person in front of us
Everwell was built on the understanding that clinical knowledge matters, but so does the way a patient feels during the experience.
Local care for families, individuals, and visitors
Everwell is designed to serve patients age three and older, including local families, adults, insured patients, self-pay patients, and visitors seeking appropriate non-emergency care.
The goal is not simply to provide another place for an appointment. It is to build a clinic people trust—one where patients know they will be treated with professionalism, compassion, and respect.
Every patient deserves to be seen, heard, and cared for.
